Shoofly Pie is a molasses and brown sugar based pie that is considered traditional in Pennsylvania Dutch Country and is also popular in the South. There are generally two versions of the shoofly pie - a wet bottomed and a dry bottomed version. Both feature two layers - a cakey/crumbly part and a gooey, molasses-y part. As their names suggest, the wet bottom version has more goo and less cake, and the dry bottom version has more cake and a thin layer of goo on the bottom. Our version is the dry bottomed version. Come on in and give it a try! We recommend it served slightly warmed with some freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Yummy.

We plan to ship on a regular basis by early to mid - 2010. Please email Kimmy at shooflypiecompany@gmail.com for inquiries.

YES! Our pies normally have our star designs on the tops, but we can customize with dates, names, flowers, etc. instead. Pricing depends on the intricacy and length of the design. Please call for details.
We can usually accommodate a request to bake a pie in a customer’s pan, HOWEVER, we will charge more based on the extra amount of filling and/or dough required to do so. Please call ahead to discuss your options.
Please be aware that we do not use any preservatives, dyes or coloring in our pies. They therefore should be consumed as soon as possible. Fruit pie is best stored at room temperature and in a cool dry place. Refrigeration is recommended if you will not be consuming the pie within 1-2 days, OR if the atmosphere is hot or humid (e.g. in the summer). Always keep cream pies, lemon meringue and key lime pie as well as all quiches and savory pies refrigerated until serving.
Microwaving is possible, but will likely cause the crust to become soggy. Therefore, we do not recommend this method for heating.
The best way to warm pie is to heat the oven at 375-400 degrees for:
Pot Pies (mini) – 18-20 min, 40-50 min (whole)
Quiches – 13-15 min (slice), 30-45 min (whole)
Whole Pies – 15-20 min
Onion Galette, Slices, Mini Fruit Pie – 4-6 min
The best way to apply for a position is to send a cover letter and resume to Kimmy at shooflypiecompany@gmail.com. You can also drop off your information at the store during business hours. If we have any positions open and are interested in interviewing with you, we will contact you!
We are constantly inundated with requests for donations. While we'd love to be able to donate to all causes, we unfortunately have to pick and choose based on several things. We gladly accept requests for donation at our store (please be prepared to drop off your information at the counter, we WILL review them) or via email to shooflypiecompany@gmail.com. Please be assured that if we are interested in donating to your cause we WILL get back to you by the deadline. We try to get back to everyone even if we are not able to donate but again, we receive so many requests that sometimes time does not allow us to do so. Thanks for your understanding.
